Campions del món - World champions!!

Per si algú encara no ho sap...FC Barcelona campió del món de Clubs 2011!!! I un servidor va tenir el privilegi de veure-ho en directe des de l'estadi del Yokohama Marinos! Gràcies a la impegable gestió d'un bon amic vaig poder gaudir com un nen del partit gairebé a primera fila, ubicats en una zona súper exclusiva, al costat de familiars dels jugadors, periodistes i VIPs , una vista privilegiada per seguir el partit...i quin espectacle!! Feia anys que no podia gaudir d'un partit en directe i la veritat et quedes bocabadat, aquests jugadors semblen realment de fantasia, millor que a la PlayStation!! I a davant de tal excel.lència futbolística els rivals poc poden fer...ahir no va ser una excepció i el gran Santos brasiler amb prou feines van veure la pilota en tot el partit. En l'únic que ens van guanyar va ser en seguidors, la torcida brasileira ens va passar la mà per la cara (al Japó hi ha una comunitat brasilera molt important), que va ajudar a escalfar el partit (fotia un fred de collons!) i tot i que van començar molt forts animant amb gran passió, aquesta es va anar diluint a mesura que queien els gols. Pel que fa l'afició neutral, els japonesos, la gran majoria (aquí sí) anaven a favor del Barça, molts equipats amb samarretes, bufandes o banderes, el kit complet ... però alhora d'animar diguem que opten més per una opció passiva, de fet els del meu voltant cada vegada que cantava alguna cosa se'm quedaven mirant entre sorpresa i incomodació...diferents maneres de viure la passió culer :) Al final doncs 4-0, títol pel Barça, una altra partit per l'història i en Messi com a millor jugador li van regalar un Toyota Prius... 


In case someone doesn't know it yet...FC Barcelona Clubs World Cup Champion 2011!!! And I had the privilege to watch it live at the Yokohama Marinos stadium!! Thanks to the priceless management of a good friend I could enjoy like a child of a match in the first row almost, located in a very exclusive zone, surrounded by players' relatives, journalist and VIPs we had an awesome view to follow the game...and what a game, pure spectacle!! It had been some years I couldn't watch a game live and honestly when you see these guys playing one can only remain speechless, these players seem from another planet and their skills are much better than PlayStation! So in front of such excellence of football the rivals cannot do much ... yesterday was not and exception and the great Brazilian Santos could hardly touch the ball in the whole match. The only place where they beat us was in the crowd, the "torcida brasileira" was much bigger (the Brazilian community in Japan is very important) than Barça's supporters, this helped to warm-up the atmosphere of the match (was bloody freezing!) and although they started with great passion, their energy got diluted with each one of the goals scored. With regard to the partial supporters, the Japanese, here the vast majority was supporting Barça, fully equipped with t-shirts, scarfs or flags...but when it came to cheering up, let's say they chose a more passive option, actually every time I shouted something I had all those around me staring with a mix of surprise and discomfort ...clearly different ways to express the support :) At the end then 4-0, new title for Barça, another match for the history and Messi elected as MVP and receiving a Toyota Prius...

Bonenkai party!

Cap de setmana rodó amb nou festival blaugrana al Bernabéu en directe des de Tokyo i aprofondint en la cultura japonesa amb les característiques festes de Bonenkai (忘年会). Sí, aquí també quan arriba el desembre es fan les tradicionals festes de final d'any, anomenades Bonenkai literalment traduit com "festa per oblidar l'any" i són un bon exemple sociològic a participar...o sigui que si no n'hi havia prou amb una, n'he tingut tres de seguides, amb la feina, amb l'escola de japonès i amb l'equip de futbol!! A destacar el Bonenkai amb els de la feina,realment gran experiència. La festa va ser a Kobe dins d'un vaixell que van llogar, abans però ens van reunir a les oficines i durant ben bé vint minuts ens van estar explicant temes d'organització i seguretat, llavors tots junts vàrem caminar cap al port no fós cas que ens perdéssim i un cop dins del vaixell ens van tornar a explicar tots els temes de seguretat i sortides d'emergència. Si no s'està acostumat a la comunicació japonesa això en va ser un bon exemple, és increïble la quantitat de temps que passen per explicar coses que pels que no som d'aquí, et semblen molt òbvies i es podrien matar en dos minuts. Evidentment però el resultat és perfecte amb una organització milimètrica que ja els agradaria als Suïssos (amb tota l'estima) :) per altra banda però aquesta situació deixa poc lloc a la improvisació i bé com a bon sud-europeu (les coses fàcils i ràpides),   trobo que hi falta alguna cosa! Cosa destacable també el brindis d'obertura, com és habitual i tradicional es fa únicament amb cervesa...o sigui que ja us podeu imaginar quina importància té al Japó. Després vàrem atacar un buffet excel.lent i al final la festa es va tancar amb el tradicional "Tejime", una forma molt il.lustrativa d'acabar una reunió, tots agrupats hi ha un líder que marca el ritme i llavors tots alhora es pica de mans, hi ha vàries versions però trobo que es bastant divertit...ja us penjaré un vídeo !


Excel.lent weekend watching live a new football exhibition of Barcelona against Madrid (the well-known Classico for football lovers) and in-depth introduction to another traditional cultural aspect of the Japanese culture, the Bonenkai (忘年会) party! Yes, here they also have end-year parties, literally translated as "forget this year gathering", is a very common social event in December, so this last weekend I had not one but three in a row, with my coworkers, with the Japanese school and with the football team. Particularly interesting was the Bonenkai with my company, the party was in Kobe inside a boat that they rented, before however we all met in the offices where for about 20 minutes we were given all type of information and especially safety aspects, then we walked altogether to the boat to make sure no one got lost (!!) and once inside we received again safety and emergency info. If one is not used to Japanese communication this was a good integration, it is amazing the time they spend giving and repeating messages that for me, as a foreigner, it is something I would resume in a much shorter time. Of course then the result is there, perfect organization with all actions under control, much better than my dear Swiss :). On the other hand however this leaves little room for improvisation, and for me as a good south-European (you know...things quick and easy) I feel there is something missing! To highlight as well that the opening toast was done as usual with beer....so it give you and idea of the importance of this drink in Japan. Then we moved to an awesome yummy buffet and to close the party we did another traditional costume, the "Tejime", people gathers and the led by someone who will give the pace we clap altogether, there are different versions but all funny, I will post a video next time!

L'art en forma de fideus - Noodles as a way of art

nyam nyam...avui us presento un dels millors descobriments culinaris fets al Japó...els Tsukemen!!! De la gran família dels fideus, Tsukemen literalment vol dir "submergir o mullar fideus". Aquests són uns fideus més gruixuts que els Ramen on la gran diferència està en que se serveix per una banda un bol de fideus i de l'altra la "sopa" on es submergeixen els fideus! Al costat de l'escola dejaponès a Iidabashi fa temps que amb els col.legues vàrem descobrir un restaurant que diuen és un dels millors de Tokyo...i vist el resultat no es queda curt, els fideus són excel.lents i la sopa miso mmmmm...això sí una bomba a considerar en moderació ;-) A banda del producte un altre punt interessant dels restaurants de ramen/tsukemen és el tema sociològic, d'entrada el ticket el compres en una màquina a l'exterior, un cop dins només hi ha una barra, la gent (molts salarymen!) pren lloc, dóna el seu ticket i en 15 minuts ja són fora sense tan sols deixar anar una paraula, s'ha d'anar per feina!!

mmm...today I want to introduce you one of the best food descoveries made in Japan....Tsukemen!! From the family of noodles, Tsukemen means literally "to dip noodles" . These are thicker noodles than Ramen where the big difference lays in the fact you get each part separately, on one hand a bowl with the noodles and the other a bowl with the soup where you dip tsukemen! Nearby my japanese school in Iidabashi, with some colleagues long time ago we discovered a Tsukemen restaurant said to be one of the best in Tokyo...and from the result it may even be possible, the noodles are really good and the miso soup is so yummy...,mmmm...a bomb to be eaten in moderation though ;-) Besides the product going to a ramen/tsukemen restaurant has a sociologic interest as well, to start with you arrive and first you buy your ticket in a machine outside, then you get in and sit down usually in a counter (full of salarymen btw!), you give you ticket to the waiter and in 15 min you can be already done without exchanging one single word...this is efficiency!
