11 de Març de 2012, avui fa un any del triple desastre del Japó, un terratrèmol de magnitud 9 richter, la màxima possible, un posterior tsunami amb onades de 15 metres que va arrassar per allà on va passar i finalment la crisi nuclear que es va generar amb l'accident a la planta de Fukushima.
Ja ha passat un any, un any on s'han fet moltes coses, on se n´han deixat de fer altres i on segurament ni hauria moltes que es podíen o s'hauríen d'haver fet millor. Avui però era un dia on d'entrada calia recordar tots aquells que ja no hi són, i és que es compten per milers, res igual des de la segona guerra mundial. Des de començaments de setmana, l'ambient estava carregat d'un to commemoratiu amb multitud d'articles, reportatges i activitats relacionades. A Tokyo, el punt culminant s'ha assolit al parc de Hibiya a les 14:46, moment exacte del terratrèmol, quan s'ha celebrat un minut de silenci per recordar a totes i cadascuna de les víctimes del tràgic accident. Us deixo un vídeo del moment, molt solèmne i amb bastant càrrega emotiva, fins i tot amb molta gent plorant, fet que m'ha xocat doncs no és habitual veure en aquesta cultura una expressió tan clara dels sentiments. Després d'això l'acte ha continuat amb concerts commemoratius però també amb un to més reivindicatiu, ja que diferents manifestacions han tingut lloc en contra de l'energia nuclear i sobretot en contra de l'enemic públic número 1, TEPCO, l'empresa responsable de la gestió de la planta. Hauríeu d'haver sentit la cridòria al passar per davant de les oficines. A partir d'aquí s'ha de veure com evoluciona el país, de moment hi ha 52 dels 54 reactors nuclears parats, per tant la qüestió ara no és una qüestió nuclear sinó una qüestió energètica, com es farà per substituir el subministrament nuclear? aquí és on jo personalment no ho veig tan clar, i és que en el fons la qüestió de base és de política i cultura energètica i aquí tot i el desastre ocorregut i el soroll social generat....sincerament poc que veig que les coses han canviat.
March 11, 2012, today is a year since the triple disaster of Japan, an earthquake of richter magnitude-9.0 , the maximum possible, followed by a Tsunami with waves 15m high that devasted everything in its path and finally the nuclear crisis with the accident in Fukushima. A year has passed by, a year where many things have been done, where others were not done and probably where many could or should had been done much better. Today however, it was a day to think and tribute memory to all those that were gone, as much as thousands, never seen since WWII. Since the beginning of this week, the atmosphere was charged with a very commemorative tone, plenty of articles, reports, documentaries in the news and many other activities were held. In Tokyo, the peak has been at 02:46pm at Hibiya park, exact time of the earthquake, when a minute of silence was held in memorial of all and each one of the victims of this tragic accident. Below a video of this moment, very solemn and touchy, even with many people crying, which is something rare in a culture where real emotions are usually kept inside. After this, the memorial was followed by different concerts but it also started a more demanding part with anti-nuke demonstrations followed by many people which had its highest point in front of TEPCO's offices, the company managing Fukushima's plant and the n.1 public enemy nowadays. From now on, we will have to see how the situation evolves, currently 52 of the 54 reactors are shut down, so the question is not only about nuclear but rather about energy as a whole, how is this country going to do to replace the nuclear energy? and here is where personally I have more doubts, because at the end all goes to the basics, meaning the energy policy and culture's , and here even after this tremendous accident...I believe that things have changed very little and even worse, I don't see a general will of changing.
